Landslide Closes Wabash Tunnel For Morning Commute
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A landslide Thursday night is having an impact on the Friday morning commute.
According to officials, the landslide happened around 9 p.m. and closed Woodruff Street from Merrimac Street to Saw Mill Run Boulevard.
The landslide also has also forced the Wabash Tunnel to be closed in both directions. However, the inbound lanes were already closed due to an accident on Oct. 22, which damaged the tunnel's gate system.
The outbound lanes were expected to be closed for about 15 hours as crews worked to clear the debris.
The Wabash Tunnel connects the South Side to Route 51.
