Pens Fans Enjoy Home Opener, Despite Loss

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - It's pretty clear- from the long lines at the Pens Gear stores, to the long lines for free concession items, and the largest crowd ever at Consol Energy Center, Pittsburghers are excited that hockey is back.

Despite the loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs in their home opener, the Pens are looking pretty good with their 2-1 record, and fans are pumped for their team.

KDKA-AM's Larry and John talk to Pens fans  that went to the game about their experience and how hey feel about hockey after a long lockout cut the season in half.

Have the Pens done enough to win back the fans?

"It seemed very genuine, they were happy we are here, that we're still with them," says Wes White of Carnegie. "It was electric- that's the best way to put it."
