8-Alarm Fire Tears Through German Township Home

GERMAN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Fire crews say an 8-alarm-fire tore through a German Township home in a matter of minutes.

When fire fighters arrived at the burning home, they had a lot to contend with. There was a lot of stuff inside the home, and there was too little water outside.

Fire fighters say the home was packed with an excessive amount of belongings, which helped fuel the fire.

To make matters worse, when fire fighters first arrived, they were initially low on water.

The home is a total loss, but no one was injured.

Fire crews continue to put out hot spots, and investigate what caused the fire.

The family who lived at the home, has a place to stay for now.
