CBS' Seth Davis: Pitt Trending Up, WVU Trending Way Down

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - CBS Sports college basketball analyst Seth Davis checked in with Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan for a look around college hoops and a preview of Monday's night's Pitt-Louisville match-up.

Although Davis will be very interested to see what Pitt can do against Louisville, he notes that this will be a big test for the Cardinals has well.

Davis also offers up some theories on why the Cardinals have dropped three straight games and shared his initial impressions of the Panthers.

Davis also explained why parity in college basketball may be good news for Pitt come tournament time.

"There's just no great teams, no great players [this year]," Davis said. "Just a lot of good, solid basketball teams. It's not a bad year to be a team like Pittsburgh that's just smart, tough, old, fundamentally sound and can beat you in different ways."

Meanwhile, West Virginia University hosts Kansas on Monday night and Davis isn't thrilled with the Mountaineers.

"West Virginia going to the Big 12, for every reason except football was horrible," said Davis. "Their guards are awful. They don't score. They're hard to watch. I'm trying to pretend that they're not there."
