Allegheny Co. Officer Arrested, Facing Charges After Alleged Dispute

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- An Allegheny County police officer who is on leave has been arrested. She was taken into custody after an alleged dispute with her son.

Police reportedly found an unsettling scene in her home.

On Friday evening, police were called to Zena Jenkins' home after she claimed her son was taking her Cadillac Escalade without permission.

According to the criminal complaint, "Daniel Jenkins ripped the keys from Zena Jenkins' hands and stated, 'I'm taking the car out of state and you'll never see it again.'"

Investigators say Zena Jenkins also told officers that "she didn't know where all of her firearms were and believed Daniel Jenkins may have taken one of them."

While at the house, officers say they saw signs of marijuana use and filthy conditions including a large rat in the basement.

Zena Jenkins was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and two drug-related counts.

Daniel Jenkins is facing robbery charges and there is a warrant for his arrest.

Allegheny County Police tell KDKA that Zena Jenkins' status is under review.
