Gun Shop Responds To Gun Control Debate By Giving Away Assault Rifle
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) – After the Connecticut school shooting, debates on gun control erupted across the country with both sides passionate and vocal about their opinion. Some want to take away all guns; others want better rules on how to acquire and use guns; others want you to keep your hands off their guns. How did Eric Lowry, owner of Pittsburgh Tactical Firearms in McKeesport, respond?
“We posted on our Facebook page to give away an AR-15, a 1000 rounds of ammunition, and 30 high-capacity mags to go with it,” says Lowry.
KDKA-AM’s Larry and John talk to Lowry about his giveaway and his thoughts on gun control. At his gun shop, they sell all kinds of guns, including police and military style weapons, as well as tactical classes on survival and defense. He believe it’s everyone’s right to own any kind of gun you would want.
“It’s your Second Amendment right to own a gun, no matter what kind of firearm it is,” says Lowry. “Citizens should be armed well enough to defend themselves against a tyrannical government in which case they should be able to own the same kind of firearms that any military soldier should be able to own.”
And those that think like him have supported the gun rights movement by using their wallet. For instance, Lowry says that after Sandy Hook, he has seen a huge jump in gun sales.
“Two days after the shooting, we sold 95% of our stock out,” says Lowry.
