It was tough competition, but Taylor Swift, the Civil Wars and T-Bone Burnett came out GRAMMY winners for their collaboration on “Safe & Sound.”

Named Best Song Written For Visual Media, “Safe & Sound” was featured in The Hunger Games. The haunting track showcases a different sound for the country-pop singer and won support from fans and the industry alike.

Where some superstars don’t show at the pre-telecast portion of the GRAMMYs, Taylor Swift was right there with her collaborators. She took the stage in a stunning white dress followed by fellow songwriters T-Bone Burnett, John Paul White, and Joy Williams, all who thanked their families for their support over the years.

“You guys are amazing – we just won a GRAMMY for that!” Taylor exclaimed

“I think it’s appropriate that Taylor thanks us,” the Civil Wars’ John Paul White joked, “as we’ve been carrying her for a while now…. I want to thank my mom and dad. I want to thank my kids…but mostly i want to thank my wife.”

“I told her 17 years ago when we met that if things went the way I wanted them to that I wouldn’t be around much and that’s an incredibly a**hole thing to say. She accepted it…I love her dearly with every part of my soul.”

Joy Williams raved about working with T Bone Burnett and Swift.

“It’s such a privilege to be able to collaborate and work with [them]. I really like it when they call. You pick up the phone whenever they call because something fun is going to happen.”

After letting his collaborators have turns at the mic, multi-GRAMMY-winning producer and songwriter Burnett–who produced The Hunger Games soundtrack, as well as the GRAMMY-winning soundtracks for O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Crazy Heart–simply said, “So much love and gratitude to you all of you, thank you, God bless.”
