Robinson Twp. Residents Upset With Stall On Natural Gas Lease Approvals
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- For Range Resources and other companies, gas drilling is a booming business in several Washington County towns.
But in Robinson Township, the action has stalled.
Dozens of property owners who've recently become natural gas leaseholders are accusing township supervisors of dragging their feet.
More than 80 people packed the township meeting Monday night demanding to know why the board isn't approving billing permits.
The panel has said in the past permit applications didn't contain all the necessary information to meet its ordinances.
Property owners who were looking forward to their royalties from the drilling worry the will never see the money.
Range Resources has filed a lawsuit to force the township to act on the permits.
