1 Dead, 2 Injured In Lincoln Place Crash

LINCOLN PLACE (KDKA) – Police are investigating after a two-vehicle accident left one person dead and two others injured late Monday night in Lincoln Place.

According to police, the accident happened around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Mifflin and Lebanon Roads and Torch Street.

Authorities say one vehicle was traveling at a high-rate of speed when it came around the bend and hit the other car.

As a result of the impact, one vehicle burst into flames. The male driver of that car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 58-year-old Dan Wolowski of Homestead.

Family members say was driving home from work with his wife, Roberta Wolowski, when the accident occurred.

Suffering from critical injuries and burns, Mrs. Wolowski was rushed to UPMC Mercy Hospital. She was last listed in critical condition in the ICU-Burn Unit.

The driver of the other car, which police believe was speeding, also suffered significant injuries and was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital.

Police believe alcohol may have been a factor.
