Penguins Trade Eric Tangradi

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pens traded forward Eric Tangradi to Winnipeg for a 7th round pick on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old, lefty shot had played in 5 games this season with no points.

"I would like to have seen Tangradi get a chance at some point," said 93.7 the Fan host and former Pens beat writer Joe Starkey. "I think it was tough for him this season, a 48-game season to stick him up there and give him 15 games."

Tangradi came to the Pens with Chris Kunitz in 2009 in the trade with Anaheim for defenseman Ryan Whitney.

He played in 45 games with one career goal. "I wonder moving forward if this kid can be a player, maybe he can be," Starkey said. I don't believe the book is closed on him."

93-7 The Fan's Starkey, Miller and Mueller talked about the trade.
