Pirates Sign Veteran Infielder Brandon Inge

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Pirates added some veteran depth to the infield on Wednesday by signing Brandon Inge.

The Pirates signed the 35-year-old infielder to a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training.

Inge spent time in both Detroit and Oakland last season. He finished the year with a .218 batting average with 12 home runs and 54 RBIs.

He has a career .234 batting average with 151 home runs and 641 RBIs in 1,482 games.

Inge was drafted in the second round in 1998 by the Detroit Tigers.

According to a press release from the team, Inge will join 60 other players for the team's Spring Training in Bradenton.
