Police Investigate Shadyside Bank Robbery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are search for the woman who held up a bank in Shadyside's business district Thursday afternoon.

The armed robbery happened around 3 p.m. at the First National Bank in the 800-block of South Aiken Avenue near the corner of Walnut Street.

Investigators brought in a bloodhound because the suspect left behind a glove and some money at the scene. The dog picked up a scent, but lost it about a block away.

The suspect is described as being a light-skinned African American woman in her 40s. She was wearing white tennis shoes and a purple scarf with sparkles.

There were four tellers in the bank at the time of the robbery, but no injuries were reported.

Police were in the bank following the incident dusting for fingerprints and they also plan to check surveillance video.
