ROOT Sports' Analyst Bob Errey Previews Debut Of Beau Bennett

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With Beau Bennett set to make his debut against the Winnipeg Jets, Bob Errey of ROOT Sports joined Starkey, Miller and Mueller to preview the game, and look back at some of the reaction to Matt Cooke's hit on Erik Karlsson which has all of the hockey world talking.

Errey said the hit from Cooke didn't have any intention of being a dirty play, and in his playing days, he would have probably made the same hit on Karlsson because any chance you got to hit the other teams star player, you took it.

"I usually don't hit a guy and pin a guy when I'm killing a penalty. Although, if it's Erik Karlsson, I probably would have hit him.  It was kind of my goal when we played against guys like (Chris) Chelios or Ray Borque or those type of players, you just hit those guys any chance you can get."

When it came to discussing Beau Bennett's debut, Errey would like to see him eased into the rotation.

"I don't think I'd play him 15, 18 minutes to be quite honest with you," said Errey. 'I'd tell him that, 'we don't know exactly how much you're going to play.  We're going to play you in different situation."

We wrapped things up with Errey getting his thoughts on the comments made by Eric Tangradi about his time with the Penguins now that he has been traded to the Winnipeg Jets.
