Police Working To Identify Butler Co. Human Remains
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Police are continuing to try and identify human remains that were found in Cranberry Township over the weekend.
According to police, the remains were found by a man passing through a small, wooded area off of Dutilh Road near UPMC Passavant Saturday afternoon.
Now, police are investigating whether or not the remains might be of a man who was reported missing in July.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, investigators found a wallet and clothing on the remains.
While there are no missing persons reports in Cranberry Township, a man in his 40s, originally from Beaver County, was reported missing in July.
Police called in forensic anthropology teams from Mercyhurst University in Erie to assist in mapping the scene and gathering evidence.
