Armed Men Rob Stanton Heights Family, Punch Victims

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are searching for three men who robbed a home in Stanton Heights Monday afternoon.

It happened shortly before 3 p.m. in the 1100-block of Brintell Street.

The family says two of the men were wearing hoods and one of them punched a 72-year-old grandfather and his 52-year-old friend in their faces. They entered through the front door.

Police say the armed suspects ordered the family inside to the floor. A 69-year-old grandmother was in another room when the intruders saw her, she was told to stay put. The couple's grandson lives with them and they say the suspects went into the grandson's room and took several items, carrying them out in grocery bags.

Neighbors were surprised that such an incident would happen in a normally pretty quiet neighborhood.

The suspects were seen leaving the scene in a dark gray van with a sliding door.

Stay with KDKA for more information.
