Man Arrested After Posing As Intern To Steal Court Documents

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A local man is facing charges after being accused of posing as an intern to steal court documents.

According to police, Josh Dowell-Miller, 19, of Monroeville, was arrested Wednesday at the Allegheny County Courthouse.

At the time of his arrest, Dowell-Miller was in possession of several files for a civil case from a downtown law firm.

He told some court employees he was an intern at the law firm and attended Duquesne Law School. He then told other employees he was an intern for a judge and attended Pitt Law School.

The law firm told police that Dowell-Miller did not work for them. Police returned the documents to the firm and were told that the files had just recently gone missing.

Dowell-Miller allegedly entered the firm under false pretenses and was escorted from the building.

He is facing a list of charges including, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

Dowell-Miller is currently being housed at the Allegheny County Jail.
