Cardinal Wuerl Heads To Rome
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Cardinal Donald Wuerl will arrive in Rome by Monday to help elect a new pope.
Wuerl left for Rome after saying a mass of thanksgiving for Pope Benedict XVI Sunday.
Cardinal Wuerl is the fromer Bishop of Pittsburgh and now serves Catholics in Washington D.C.
Wuerl is one of 11 American cardinals who will be a part of the conclave to elect a new pope.
A two-thirds majority is required to elect a new pope.
