Postcards From Bradenton: Pirates-Orioles Rained Out

BRADENTON, Fla. (93-7 THE FAN) -- The Pirates and Orioles were rained out Tuesday in Bradenton.

Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle doesn't mind losing a day early in an extended spring training. The spring season is longer this year due to the World Baseball Classic coming up March 2 to 19.

"We got the work in before the game. We just didn't get to play nine innings," Hurdle said.

Hurdle plans on using the same line up he had penciled in today for Wednesday's 1:05 p.m. game versus Tampa at McKechnie Field.

Here is the line up facing the Rays:
1. Starling Marte LF
2. Neil Walker 2B
3. Andrew McCutchen CF
4. Pedro Alvarez 3B
5. Garrett Jones 1B
6. Gaby Sanchez DH
7. Brad Hawpe RF
8. Michael McKenry C
9. Clint Barmes SS

Today's starting pitcher, Wandy Rodriguez, will piggyback with today's scheduled starter A.J. Burnett.

The Fan Morning Show will continue to broadcast LIVE all week from Bradenton. The guys will be joined Wednesday by Pirates General Manager Neal Huntington, 1B/OF Garrett Jones, pitching coach Ray Searage and broadcaster Greg Brown among others.
