Matt Cooke Show: Pens Didn't Get Outworked By Panthers

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Pittsburgh Penguins winger Matt Cooke joins Vinnie & Cook for his latest weekly appearance on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan.

After Pittsburgh's 6-4 loss to the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night, some Penguin players said they got outworked by the Panthers. Cooke doesn't see it that way.

"My personal opinion is that 'outworked' is a weird comment that really shouldn't be used," Cooke says. "I don't think anyone's out there not trying their hardest. Now, do I think that we didn't manage the puck very well? Do I think that we didn't execute very well? Yeah, those things are true."

Despite two shaky starts from goaltender Tomas Vokoun, Cooke still has the reserve goalie's back.

Cooke says he supports Vokoun "100 percent. He's a professional. He's going to help us win, and he knows that. I have no fear or lack of confidence that the next time he's in the net he's going to do a great job for us."

Cooke also gives the inside scoop on the Pittsburgh's penalty kill, tells how Evgeni Malkin's injury affects the team, and explains why he doesn't think opponents are getting under the Pens' skin.

Matt Cooke joins Vinnie & Cook every week on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan. His next appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6.
