PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – For the second day in a row, Pens star Evgeni Malkin skated, only today it was his trick shot that is getting all the attention.

During Malkin’s workout Thursday at Southpoint, he managed to sink a puck in a bag from halfway down the ice.

Malkin skated today, and according to the Pens he has been symptom free.

There’s still no timetable for his return.

WATCH TRICK SHOT

Malkin has been completely shut down since crashing into the boards against Florida.

That hit led to him being placed on injured reserve with concussion-like symptoms.

Malkin’s injury happened in the third period of the Penguins’ 3-1 win over the Panthers last Friday night. He was tangled up with Florida defenseman, Erik Gudbranson before sliding back-first into the end boards.

Malkin stayed down on the ice for a brief period of time before skating off under his own power. He did not return to the game.
