Moms Upset Over Skechers' "Daddy's Money" Shoes

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Shoe company Skechers is under fire for a new shoe ad targeting tweens.

The company's latest collection is called "Daddy's Money" and the commercials for the sneaker wedges has the tagline: "Get spoiled with Daddy's money, ultra cool shoes that will put you in the spotlight with a dose of swag and a 2-inch hidden wedge."

The shoes are $65 dollars, and feature a "Daddy's Money" logo at the heel. They're on sale at various Famous Footwear locations in the Pittsburgh area.

KDKA's John Shumway Reports:

Various internet blogs are now picking up on the controversy. One blog, called Rants From Mommyland, says "This is NOT how we teach girls, and young women to get what they want."

The blog goes on to say, "Girls, don't work for the things you want. No no no. Instead, put on tiny shorts and a belly shirt and go ask "Daddy" for some money."

KDKA has put in a request for a comment from Skechers, we have yet to get a response.
