PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan) — Bob Pompeani had the chance to discuss the state of the Pens with former coach and NBC Sports Analyst Ed Olczyk.

Olczyk talked about the Pens’ defensive zone coverage, which he says is a question mark that hasn’t changed since the end of last season. He asks, can they defend well enough in the playoffs to have success?

There are layers in their system and things have not gone well lately in their own zone, he says.

Olczyk said that there is pressure on the Penguins based on their last three playoff series, adding that the team needs to take the next step and they need to figure out how to do it — but health will be a factor.
