PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police have identified the human remains found in Cranberry Township two weeks ago.

The remains were found Feb. 16 when a man visiting a patient at the nearby UPMC hospital stumbled upon them near the Cranberry Mall.

Police have been working since then to identify the remains and Friday they identified them to be that of Christopher Alan Menosky. Both dental records and an identification card found in the area were used to determine his identity, police said.

Menosky is originally from Beaver County and was reported missing July 19, 2012 from Butler, police say.

The cause of death is still unknown, but police say they don’t suspect any foul play.

Police are also still trying to figure out why Menosky was in Cranberry Township.
