Shooting Victim's Family Praying Suspect Comes Forward

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- While Pittsburgh police continue to search for the person who fatally shot and killed a mother of six, the woman's family and friends gathered Saturday evening for a solemn prayer vigil in her memory.

Another person was also shot and wounded when the gunfire erupted on a Beltzhoover corner in the early morning hours of Thursday, Feb. 28.

The family of Tiona Jackson, who worked as a certified nursing assistant, says her death came as a shock because she was a loving mother that wasn't involved in any sort of criminal activity.

"I miss her... just being here. Her laughter, the joy she brought everybody, her smile," said Brandi Jackson, the victim's sister.

They say they're praying that the person responsible comes forward for the sake of her children.

"Her kids was everything to her," said Tiffani Walker, Jackson's sister. "That's all she ever talked about is just taking care of her kids and leaving a future for her children."

The 28-year-old was gunned down at the corner of Vincent Street and East Warrington Avenue when she and a 32-year-old man were leaving Red's Bar.

The two were walking to their car when someone opened fire, killing Jackson and injuring the man.

Police say one witness saw an older-model gold- or tan-colored Pontiac Grand Prix that sped away from the area after the shooting.
