PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A local coach is getting national attention.

Pine-Richland High School wrestling coach Ben Rings, 31, appears in the next issue of People Magazine.

Rings coaches special needs students.

“It builds their confidence,” Rings told the magazine.

His team also includes kids without special needs, because he says he sees no reason to differentiate between them.

“The students with special needs get a lot out of it, but so do others,” he said.

He also heads the school’s “Peer Buddies” program.

The March 18 issue will be out Friday.
