Pitt Clinches Double Bye, To Open Big East Tournament Thursday

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It's now on to the Big East Tournament for Pitt.

With a win over DePaul in their final Big East regular season game, the Panthers clinched a double-bye in the Big East Championship.

The No. 4-seeded Panthers will play on Thursday, March 14 at 2 p.m. in the Quarterfinal Round at Madison Square Garden. They will face one of three teams, No. 5 Syracuse, No. 12 Seton Hall or No. 13 South Florida.

If Pitt wins, they'll advance to the Semifinal Round, which is scheduled for Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m.

The Big East Championship Game will be played on Saturday, March 16 at 8:30 p.m.

This will be Pitt's 31st and final Big East Tournament.

All Pitt's Big East Tournament games will be carried live on 93-7 The Fan.
