Marcellus Shale Hour: Nickelodeon & Erosion
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- KDKA's Robert Mangino and Range Resources Spokesman Matt Pitzarella welcomed two experts on the show this week to discuss fracking and erosion.
In the first half hour, a Policy Analyst for the Independent Women's Forum Emily Wismer explained that Nickelodeon aired an episode of their Nick News program on fracking to educate children. She said the show misrepresented what fracking is all about and showed a bias against the process. Wismer said that the show explained more of the cons instead of the pros.
In the second half hour, Pennsylvania DEP Press Secretary Kevin Sunday said that there is no there evidence that fracking increased the amount of dirt into streams.
He said he thinks that erosion is the main cause and he also discusses chloride levels and how to combat high amounts.
Listen to the Marcellus Shale hour every Tuesday night from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA.
