SHALER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — Two people were injured Thursday afternoon when officials say a car hit another vehicle and then crashed over hillside and into Little Pine Creek in Shaler Township.

The accident happened just before 1:30 p.m. in the shopping plaza parking lot at 880 Butler Street.

Officials say after hitting the other vehicle in the parking lot, the driver took off but lost control trying to turn onto the bridge and out of the shopping plaza. The car went through the guardrail and then over the hill.

The driver of the car was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. There’s no word on his condition.

The person who was driving the other vehicle suffered an ankle injury.
