PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Pitt basketball broadcaster and two-sport legend Dick Groat joined The Fan Morning Show live from New York this morning to preview this afternoon’s Pitt vs. Syracuse Big East Tournament matchup.
Groat told the guys that some of his favorite Big East Tournament memories came from the first couple Pitt championship runs, around when the Panthers were finally starting to break out after years of relative futility.
He explained that he feels the Big East Tournament is an unrivaled event, but expects the competition in the ACC Tournament (and in the ACC in general) to be very exciting.
He also broke down the Pitt vs. Syracuse matchup, explaining that the play of Pitt’s two key freshmen- Steven Adams and James Robinson- should be crucial as it has been all season, especially when it comes to the first of those two guys.
“We’ll go as far as Steven Adams can carry us,” Groat said.
