QB Bruce Gradkowski Ready To Get To Work For Steelers

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Hours after signing a contract with his hometown team, new Steelers quarterback Bruce Gradkowski checked in with Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan.

The Dormont native is thrilled to be playing for the Black and Gold.

"It feels awesome," Gradkowski said. "To come back home and to be where my whole family is, it's exciting. And to be a part of such a great organization and a championship football team, I'm just thrilled and excited to get to work."

Gradkowski likes what he sees with the Steelers.

"I think they have the right pieces," he said. "Any time you have a franchise quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger, you have a chance. And that is what's exciting."

Bruce's brother Gino is a center for the Baltimore Ravens, who are coming off a Super Bowl-winning season.

"I'm happy for Gino. He's in a good situation. I'm happy to see him get a ring, but I'm a little jealous. I want a ring. What a perfect place to come to. The Steelers are known for winning Super Bowls," Bruce said.

Bruce also looks back on beating the Steelers at Heinz Field when he played for the Raiders in 2009, and sizes up his former team in Cincinnati.
