Pirates Make More Roster Moves As Opening Day Nears

PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN)--The Pirates have decided to keep pitcher Jonathan Sanchez and utility man, Brandon Inge to start the season with the Major League club. Shortly after Michael Sanserino of the Post Gazette broke the news, he joined the Fan Morning Show to talk about it.

Inge is being kept because he could potentially begin the season on the DL because of a shoulder-blade injury from being hit by a pitch.

Sanchez is to begin the season with the club because of the injury to Jeff Karstens.

The team had to fill their fourth and fifth spot in the starting pitching rotation. Sanchez is the man to fill one of those spots. The other spot will be left up to Jeanmar Gomez, Kyle McPhearson, and Jeff Locke.
