1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized After Shooting In Clairton

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One man is dead and another is hospitalized following a double shooting this afternoon in Clairton.

According to emergency dispatchers, two people were shot before 2:20 p.m. along Halcomb Avenue, right around the corner from the Clairton Public Library.

Allegheny County Police Assistant Superintendent James Morton says in addition to the wounded men, two others are being questioned by police, and two others are being sought.

One of the victims is said to be the grandson of Clairton Councilman Richard Ford who is running for Clairton Mayor.

Authorities say 34-year-old Terrence Moore was shot three times in the chest and stomach and flown to Allegheny General Hospital. The second person, 21-year-old Richard Ford -- grandson of the councilman -- was shot in the leg and was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Late Tuesday night, the medical examiner confirmed that Moore had died.

Officials also said Tuesday night that 20-year-old Christian Riley has been charged with attempted homicide.

Police also said early in the investigation that Moore and Ford may have been shooting at each other at the time.

One witness, who did not want to be identified, said he he heard two men arguing before hearing as many as 15 to 20 gunshots.

Clairton Police and Allegheny County Homicide were on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
