PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Yahoo NHL writer Nick Cotsonika joined the Fan Morning Show this morning after news broke over night that the Pens traded for Jarome Iginla.
“The Pens are saying we are all-in” Cotsonika said. But, he also added, “They have put a target on their backs” as everyone will now be out to beat them on the ice because they know they can’t keep up with Pens GM Ray Shero on his trades.
Cotsonika points out that teams like the Bruins who were also very interested in Iglina will not give up. They will look to add depth but there simply is not anyone out there like Iglina.
“The pressure is on Dan Bylsma,” Cotsonika said. “But this is what you want.”
The Pens have added Iglina, Brenden Morrow and Douglas Murray in the past few days and are now according to many in the hockey world the clear favorite to win the Stanley Cup.
