Police Investigate Fatal Monroeville Shooting

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) – Police are investigating a shooting in Monroeville Saturday morning that left one man dead.

According to police, the shooting happened around 5:25 a.m. near Cambridge Square Drive.

Police say they responded to a report of a man shot in a stairwell at the 225 building.

When they arrived, police say a 21-year-old African-American man had been shot through the chest and died on the scene. He has been identified as 21-year-old Mark Rucker.

It is believed that he may have collapsed in the stairwell after running back into the building.

Allegheny County Homicide is investigating the shooting – they say they are following several leads, but are unclear as to a motive. They say they are looking for a suspect who may be hiding somewhere in the apartment building.
