Gunmen Sought In Edgewood Town Center Shooting

EDGEWOOD (KDKA) - Police are still searching for the gunmen involved in a shootout at the Edgewood Town Center Saturday afternoon.

Monday is the first time all of the businesses will reopen after the triple-shooting.

However, the emotional trauma for those who saw everything is still very fresh. It's a scene that won't soon be forgotten as two men opened fire.

"What monster can shoot in a place where so many kids were?" Amber Nelson said.

Detectives said the gunfire erupted late when a man inside a store made eye contact with another man.

"This is the result of an ongoing issue that seems to be the underlying theme here. It might be a chance encounter here today, but definitely the two parties are definitely familiar with each other," Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman said.

Once outside the store, both men fired round after round while running in opposite directions. The parking lot was full of shoppers.

"I [saw] two guys arguing and next thing you know, you heard about 10, 15 shots just ringing out," one woman said.

Monday evening, police announced they were securing an arrest warrant for 23-year-old Tyron Manns of North Braddock. Police say he has ties to Swissvale and Rankin, is about 5 feet 9 inches tall, 150 pounds and is considered armed and dangerous. The second shooter has not yet been identified.

Police don't believe either of the shooters were injured, but three other people were. A 51-year-old woman was shot in her buttocks. A 29-year-old man was shot in the leg and the most seriously injured was a 20-year-old who was shot in the stomach.

This normally quiet shopping center is now the scene of a crime as forensic team removes bullets from cars that were hit during the chaos.

"I didn't know what to think. I didn't know if my son got shot or my husband got shot. I was on pins and needle," Sabrina Gadson said.

At least one of the shooting victims has been released from the hospital.

Police did arrest one man on Saturday in a nearby neighborhood. While police said he is connected to the shooting, he was not one of the two shooters.
