Local Girl Found In S.D., A Week After Going Missing

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A local girl has been found in South Dakota, after she went missing more than a week ago.

Police say 13-year-old Alexandria Sewell of Clarion County was found in Martin, S.D., near the borders of Nebraska and Wyoming Saturday.

"She seems to be doing OK, a little bit confused," Martin Police Chief Julio Medeiros said. "But her health appears fine. She's being tended to and she is in good hands in Rapids City at this time."

She was found with 31-year-old Joshua Baker, who is also from Clarion County.

Baker was found in the parking lot of a Dairy Queen and police say he tried to escape at one point, which will lead to more charges on top of the kidnaping count he already faces.

Police believe Sewell was with Baker when she disappeared.

Sewell's mother posted a thank you message on Facebook after the girl was found.

"There are so many I want to thank, so many I don't know that without your support, I may have never heard her voice again," part of the message said.
