Plea Deal Reached In Fatal McDonald's Parking Lot Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A plea deal was reached Wednesday for a teenager accused in the shooting death of a man in a crowded McDonald's parking in Penn Hills.

The victim, Dalyn Jones, was shot in broad daylight in August of 2011.

Akeem Willie was 15 at the time of the shooting, but was charged as an adult.

Police say the argument that led to the shooting was over marijuana. Jury selection was scheduled to begin this week.

Willie agreed to the plea deal after learning his co-defendant, Darien Clark, was going to testify against him.

Willie pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and was sentenced to 20 to 40 years in prison.

Clark pleaded guilty to conspiracy and was sentenced to time served.
