Suzie McConnell-Serio Has Found Her "Dream Come True" At Pitt

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With a women's basketball head coaching vacancy, Pitt looked no further than across town to find their replacement for Agnus Berenato. Suzie McConnell-Serio from Duquesne University was announced earlier today as the successor to the program.

McConnell-Serio told Starkey, Miller and Mueller on 93-7 The FAN about how excited she was to get this job.

"Hopefully it's my last job and yes, it is a dream come true right now," she said.  "After going through this entire process and learning about Pitt and the resources and the people that are here, I truly am excited and grateful for this opportunity to be here."

With expectations for women's basketball being raised at Pitt after the firing of Berenato, McConnell-Serio told us what's realistic as far as getting people interested in women's basketball.

"You have to win, and that's going to draw people," she said. "Hopefully, with a new coaching staff coming in and going to the ACC... we will continue to try and grow.  And I know the more success that we have, the more people that will come watch us play."

Things wrapped up with with McConnell-Serio talking about how she'll recruit players to Pitt.
