Thousands Walk/Run To Raise Awareness For Multiple Sclerosis

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Thousands were walking and running Sunday morning to raise awareness and money for multiple sclerosis.

More than 3,000 took the one mile walk or 5K run that started in Point State Park.

Organizers hoped to raise $500,000 to help thousands in our area living with multiple sclerosis.

"We do it because we care. We do it because we know someone who suffered and that it's [kind of] one of those things where we think that you know every day we take things for granted, but then you know that there's people out there who have these serious diseases and there's family who suffer for them," Rose Choi said.

KDKA-TV's Ken Rice is the honorary chair and he helped kick off today's opening ceremony.
