Fayette Co. Man In Jail After Toddler Found Wandering Alone

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Shawn Hodgetts Jr., 29, Is being held in the Fayette County Jail tonight, facing charges including child endangerment.

He was supposed to be caring for his 2-year-old daughter.

But, Lt. Thomas Kolencik of the Uniontown City Police Department, told KDKA-TV News Tuesday night that the child was found unsupervised, crying and without shoes, wandering on a street near her home.

Kolencik said the child was wearing clothes, but her diaper was wet.

Hodgetts was found asleep and drunk on the porch of his West Main Street home.

Police had a hard time when they tried to wake him up.

Beth Domokos, who lives nearby, came home from work, saying she was shocked and saddened by the news, wondering how a responsible parent could act so recklessly.
