Car Smashes Into Oakland Gas Station

NORTH OAKLAND (KDKA)- A local gas station is picking up the pieces, after a car slammed into the station's convenience store.

It happened late Tuesday night at the A-Plus store at the Sunoco gas station on North Craig Street.

Police tell us the driver of the car, for some reason, was revving the engine of the 1997 Mercury and spinning the wheels. When he put the car in drive, he lost control and slammed into the store.

A woman was injured in the crash and taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

The driver, who was not hurt, is expected to be charged in the case.

The gas station had the broken windows boarded up. No word on when they will reopen.
