Pittsburgh Marathon Organizers Announce Road Closures

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pittsburgh Marathon is just days away and as crews make last-minute preparations, organizers have released the list of road closures for the day of the race.

The marathon kicks off at 7 a.m. on May 5.

The closures will be put in place early on race morning, and many will continue through the afternoon as runners make their way to the finish line.

Meanwhile, officials with the Port Authority say about 50 bus routes will be detoured throughout the city on race day.

The Port Authority says all detours begin with the start of service and will last until about 3 p.m.

There will also be some smaller detours on Friday and Saturday on the North Side and Downtown for race set-up and race-related events.

On Sunday, the Port Authority says T service will begin around 4 a.m. and both inclines will open at 5 a.m.
