PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A local candidate for mayor is now facing charges.

The candidate, 27-year-old Joshua DeWitt, is one of three candidates who want the Democratic nomination for mayor of Connellsville.

But just two weeks before the primary election, charges have been filed against DeWitt.

He’s accused of running a chop shop and recovering stolen property.

We were unable to reach DeWitt for comment.

However, his attorney says his client has pleaded not guilty, and his attorney wants to know what new evidence there is to refile the charges.

DeWitt faced the same charges last year, but they were dismissed at that time.
