PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) — ROOT Sports Penguins analyst Jay Caufield joined The Fan Morning Show on Wednesday to recap the Penguins’ 6-4 loss to the Islanders that evened the two team’s first round playoff series on Tuesday night.

Caufield thinks the situation may be ripe for a change in net, with Marc-Andre Fleury struggling, and the quite-capable Tomas Vokoun waiting in the wins.

“They brought him here for a reason,” Caufield said. “He could be the answer right off the bat.”

He feels that the Penguins simply haven’t been able to get all the parts of their game trending in the right direction.

“You need a mix of everything,” Caufield said. “They’ve put the puck in the net enough times to be winning all these games. It comes down to the defensive responsibilities.”

Caufield’s commentary can be heard during every Penguins game on ROOT Sports, before and after the game on KDKA-TV, and on The Fan Morning Show every week.
