Police Seek Suspects In Jewelry Store Clerk Robbery

PINE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — Police are investigating the armed robbery of a jewelry store clerk in a shopping plaza in Pine Township.

The robbery happened just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday outside of the Grafner Brothers Jewelry Store in the Pine Tree Shops on Perry Highway in Wexford.

According to police, three men robbed the jewelry salesman in the parking lot of the plaza.

Investigators say all three suspects were wearing masks, were dressed in black clothing and left in the same vehicle.

Various reports put the amount of jewelry allegedly taken at $1 million dollars.

The jewelry store was closed Thursday morning, many of its display cases were cleared of most merchandise, which is the normal practice for most jewelry stores when they are not open.

The Northern Regional Police Department is saying very little about the incident other than it remains under investigation.
