Beaver Co. Woman Allegedly Stabs Boyfriend Over Cigarettes

AMBRIDGE (KDKA) – A Beaver County woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend over cigarettes over the weekend.

According to Ambridge Police, Janet Gaus used a kitchen knife to stab her boyfriend, Lou Sakony, just before midnight at their 635 Wilson Avenue home.

Gaus reportedly became irritated with him over hand-rolled cigarettes before stabbing Sakony in his back and arm.

Four children, two of which are under the age of six, were sleeping when the two started to argue.

The kids woke up and witnessed their mother stabbing their father.

KDKA-TV's Christine D'Antonio went to the couple's home on Thursday. Awoman inside yelled from behind the door that she was Gaus' sister and said the 40-year-old mother of six wouldn't be home until Friday.

Doctors gave Sakony four stiches at Sewickley Hospital after the assault.

Police said he's not living at the home right now. Numerous neighbors said this isn't the first time police have been called to the house and that the two have a tumultuous relationship.

Ambridge Police said they've been at the home before for domestic related calls.
