WVU Baseball Team Safe In OKC, Jumps In To Help
OKLAHOMA CITY (KDKA) – The West Virginia University baseball team is in Oklahoma City, preparing for Big 12 conference tournament play when a deadly tornado hit.
The team sent tweets out saying they were okay after the tornado hit. Head Coach Randy Mazey tweeted that the tornado hit about five to ten miles from the team’s hotel.
The WVU baseball team decided to jump in to help right after the storm hit, they boarded the team bus, and headed to a local Walmart to buy supplies for victims.
The team documented their trip to the store on YouTube.
The third-seeded are scheduled to open the Big 12 tournament against sixth-seeded Kansas on Wednesday.
