PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) — Pirates color commentator and former pitcher Bob Walk joined The Fan Morning Show on Thursday for his weekly interview with the guys.

Walk sang the praises of Francisco Liriano, who is 3-0 with a 1.00 ERA after his seven shutout innings played a big role in the Bucs’ 1-0 victory over the Cubs last night.

“I can’t imagine he’s pitched any better,” Walk said. “Last night, I can’t even nitpick. When he pitches like that, he’s as good as any ace in the league.”

Walk is very high on this Pirates team, though he’s taking his time buying in.

“Everything is going good right now,” Walk said. “I’d like to see a few more runs, but that’s okay. I’m on the bandwagon. I’m just not going to drive it for a while.”

Walk’s weekly “Walk on Wednesday” spot can normally be heard every Wednesday on The Fan Morning Show at 8:40 a.m.
