Teen Girl Shot, Killed In Rankin

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A teen has been arrested and charged after a 16-year-old girl was shot and killed in Rankin Friday evening.

The incident happened around 7:45 p.m. in the 500-block of Kenmawr Avenue in the Hawkins Village housing complex.

Police have identified the teen girl as Delasia Dutrieuille and police say they have arrested 16-year-old Londell Jones of Rankin and charged him with homicide.

Two people were seen leaving the scene after the shooting.

They reportedly fled into nearby Braddock.

One person was taken into police custody, but the search is continuing for the second person.

The SWAT team was searching along Holland Avenue, as well as a wooded area nearby for that person.

However, police are not saying that those people are necessarily the suspects who pulled the trigger in the shooting incident.

Police are trying to determine a motive in the shooting, but believe Dutrieuille may have been robbed just before the shooting and that she confronted one of the robbers.

The incident was captured by surveillance cameras, police say.

Homicide officials were also called to the scene in Rankin.
