Carrick Police Chase Suspect Sought

CARRICK (KDKA) - Police are still searching for a man who took off from officers, armed with a handgun.

According to police, officers tried to pull over a car for routine traffic violations around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday near the South Busway by Bennett Street.

When officers approached the car, the driver took off.

It appeared two suspects were in the car and one had a gun.

The suspects eventually ditched the car along Fairlane Street in Carrick.

Police searched the area, including a creek and along the South Busway, for hours, but could not track down the suspect.

He is described as a white male and was last seen wearing a black hat backwards, a black T-shirt and brown or tan shorts.

Police said he was carrying a black handgun, which they believe he ditched during the foot chase.

Officers may know who they are looking for, thanks to the registration on the car.
